POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting in the collection of the Partnership’s Downtown Denver research, including trend information, transportation data, database management & mapping, and disseminating the information to staff, customers and Partnership members through social networking sites, e-newsletters and other communication tools. The position will provide analysis, interpretation and synthesis of research collected to support the Downtown Denver Partnership’s place-based economic development initiatives. This position is also responsible for working with the Transportation & Research Manager to assist with the Urban Exploration trip, Downtown transportation programs and the management of the Transportation & Development Council.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Coordinates updates of all research projects, including but not limited to Downtown Denver bicycle counts, pedestrian counts, commuter survey and parking inventory as well as factual and statistical information requested by staff. Interprets data collected, provides analysis and develops user-friendly formats for distribution of the materials
2. Designs and manages all Downtown Denver information databases, including, but not limited to, the DDP’s Map & Directory, census information, pedestrian counts, bicycle counts, retail and housing. Maintenance of databases requires ongoing research and relationships with the DDP’s Marketing & Communications and Economic Development Departments, as well as various public and private interests to keep information current.
3. In coordination with the Marketing & Communications department, communicates Downtown information to staff, members, brokers, developers, investors and property owners via phone, email, e-newsletters, social networking sites and other outlets.
4. Fields the majority of telephone calls and emails requesting research related information about Downtown Denver.
5. Communicates Downtown Environment information to visitors, residents, employers and employees via email, e-newsletters and social networking sites. Staffs events presented by the Downtown Environment department such as public meetings, transportation events and employer presentations.
6. Provides other administrative assistance to the Downtown Environment Department as required and when coordinated through supervisor.
7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in economics, urban planning, transportation planning, public policy or a related field. Proven research experience, as well as written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to move throughout or observe in an urban environment for more than two hours at a time is required. Previous economic development, research, economics or transportation experience preferred.
SALARY:
The hiring range for this position starts at $29,000 and goes to the mid thirties. Compensation will be based on experience.
