The Town of Castle Rock is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager in the Public Works Department. Castle Rock is a scenic and high quality community located approximately 20 minutes south of the Denver metropolitan area. Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Assistant Director, performs professional and managerial work overseeing a specific program area within Public Works. Manages staff, ensures successful completion of capital projects, develops resource management plans, supports and manages long and short range planning and coordinates with various stakeholders. Supervises personnel. Assigns and plans work of others. Establishes performance standards, coordinates activities and allocates personnel. Makes decisions related to staffing, performance evaluations, salary increases, and training. Ensures compliance with applicable personnel guidelines and employment law. Develops and oversees programs including resource management and environmental plans and reporting. Oversees applicable budget including recommendations regarding fees. Responsible for interdepartmental communication and coordination and oversight of public education and involvement. Oversees capital improvement planning and maintenance projects. Ensures successful completion on time and within budget. Reviews and processes change orders. Ensures development projects are reviewed for impact to program area. Meets with developers. Prepares Council, Commission and public presentations. Coordinates with various stakeholders. Ensures effective communication and coordination with outside agencies. Ensures compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, reporting requirements, permits and environmental regulations. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; supplemented by six years experience that includes project management of capital projects from engineering through construction and progressively responsible experience supervising a team of technical professionals. Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado (or ability to become registered within 6 months of employment). A valid Colorado driver’s license is required to conduct on-site project evaluations and to attend out-of-office meetings.
