POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

PLANNING DIRECTOR

Application Deadline: Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $5,415 to $6,250 per month plus benefits

Cottonwood Heights is currently accepting applications to fill a full time opening for a Planning Director. Under the general direction of the City Manager this position is responsible for directing the City’s land use program, performing complex planning activities, organizing and directing the work of the Planning Department; performs a variety of advanced professional and technical duties as needed to implement department work plans and programs related to long range and/or current planning. Assists in the monitoring of community compliance with established planning, zoning and development ordinances; provides staff assistance to the Planning Commission, City Council, Board of Adjustment, and other City committees.

Minimum qualifications include the following:
∙ A Master’s Degree in planning or a related field
∙ Five years of directly related experience including two years of supervisory experience
∙ Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners
