Student APA Colorado Going Green
Now is an exciting time to become part of the Student APA at CU Denver. One of our goals is to make Auraria Campus more sustainable. In 2007, the Student APA started a sub-committee called the Student Environment Redesign Committee (SERC) to provide an opportunity for the College to display its commitment to going green. SERC has designed a green roof design for the fourth floor patio in order to lower heating and cooling requirements for the building, as well as a way to slow and clean stormwater before it entering the ground. The project should blossom this year, barring any unforeseen bumps in the road. Funding is in place, support for the project is strong, and students and faculty are working hard to get the project implemented. The College is poised to shine as a green leader in Denver and the nation. This project is big step in the right direction toward going green.
